Shell Supports Combating Tuberculosis in Indonesia

As we know  March 24 is World TB day
While in Indonesia Data from Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

State that still available 67,000 deaths from tuberculosis every year. That is why, the Indonesian government declared a target Non tuberculosis in 2050.

In line with the Indonesian government's plan, once commemorate World TB Day, PT Shell Indonesia expressed his concern against efforts to eradicate tuberculosis in Indonesia.

through health education about tuberculosis which is conducted in the area of Marunda, Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia namely at Desa Pantai Makmur  on Saturday (19/3), and Desa Segara Makmur today, Monday (21/03).

Counseling of health event was opened by Alex Marpaung, Shell Manager LOBP Marunda witnessed by Chief of Desa Pantai Makmur  Safe Zalih, Village Chief "Segara Makmur" Agus Sopyan Chief of Puskesmas Tarumajaya dr, Ria.

This activity is done Village Hall each followed by by 200 residents of the village Segara Makmur and Desa Pantai Makmur . counseling is given by doctors from Shell Health Indonesia and Puskesmas Tarumajaya.

"Through the program administration The Counseling of health, shell Indonesia want to participate role in effort eradication of TB in Indonesia. All this time, we see that the Government has played an active role in conducting treatment to TB patients through the provision of free TB medicines at the health center community health, "said Alex Marpaung, Shell Manager LOBP Marunda.

As we know it, WHO data states that tuberculosis suffered by adults in the productive age. Other than that, more than 95% of people with TB and death from the disease in developing countries. Even this disease cause very high mortality in women aged 15 to 44 years. 

"We welcomed the every effort which is conducted many parties including Shell Indonesia to help eradicate tuberculosis in our environment. Through counseling conducted by Shell, we hope to increase awareness to encourage and support TB patients cured, "said H. Aman Zalih, the village chief Pantai Makmur
